Who's The Boss of You? No - really!

Are You Sure?

People are ‘unsure’ of their place, and who-and-what they are.

Confidence is an assumption – not a tangible entity like a leg.

Is self-confidence a product of your bank-account, a decade or two

of success?

Real as a Right-Sided-Stroke

After fifteen-years as Division Vice-President overseeing 1,200

executives, graduating from MIT with a Ph.D, and earned wealth

with all its support systems. He smiled comically as he shared his deepest

secret with a stranger…

“Every day I come to work – that’s fifteen-years – I wait to hear they

figured-it-out – that I’m faking it, and know-nothing. No, it didn’t happen

today – but probably tomorrow – maybe not. Okay, I’ll stick it out for another

day – I still got ‘em fooled – aint that the limit?”

How can you relax and enjoy your success when you fear your competency?

Where does confidence come from? Is it genetic and hardwired, or can you

buy it at Walmart?

Self-Confidence is not a ‘given’, it requires daily reinforcement

at both your conscious and non-conscious mind - or its shoots-its-wad and silently departs like Hurricane Rita.

You’ve Heard of ANTs – ‘Automatic-Negative-Thoughts

Psychologists estimate we have two-hundred different ANTs living in our mind to advise us about our talents, character, and personal-worth. Ninety-eight percent

of the time they automatically assure us we stink, are a no-talent, and are fooling-

the-public.

Read the lips of the Australian tennis-pro playing for the title – who

smashed the ball into the net – “You stupid, no-good S.O.B. You… *&$!!”, he says to himself.

His blood boils over, and he can hardly breathe, but it goes on for up to sixty-seconds. Guess happens to him on the next serve - in that state-of-mind?

Right – he goofs again, and takes that as evidence the ANTs are right!

Okay – what’s your first-reaction to falling-flat on your fact? You need a

new strategy that empowers you – not insults you when you stumble.

The ANTs Got Him

The first step is having ‘Two-Minute-Strategies™’ to make self-esteem and personal-power automatic - and run on auto-pilot.

Know these Two-Minutes-Strategies and punch ‘illegitimate’ self-doubt – in the snout.

“Breathe-Stretch-Shake – Let-it-Go!”

First, the name – MASE, a superstar Rapper, released a lyric in 2005 on his “Welcome-Back” album called – ‘Breathe-Stretch-Shake and Let-it-go’.

Goal for us: annihilate the nasties from your mind, and alert the Big-Five senses

to pay-attention and concentrate on the work-at-hand.

One-more-once – when you want to clear your head, focus on being productive – wake-up! your mind-and-body (not before going to sleep)

– use ‘Breathe-Stretch-Shake – Let-it-Go!’

Personally - it should be a requirement every 90-minutes because we wind-down every one-and-a-half hours. That’s a scientific-fact, not an urban-myth.

This exercise takes no more than ninety (90) seconds!

1. Stand up – yes, that requires a decision.

2. Close your eyes – do it when you are in private.

3. Visualize your heart, and place your right-hand in the center of your

chest.

4. Take a diaphragmatic breath (deeply inhale), and count to seven-beats - one-one-thousand, two-one-thousand, three-one…etc.

5. Switch hands and place your left-hand a hand-span above your navel

(belly-button, umbilicus), and visualize your belly-button.

6. Hold that inhalation to a count of ten-beats – (seconds) while

simultaneously visualizing your belly-button.

7. Exhale s-l-o-w-l-y to a count of seven-beats, and open your eyes.

8. Now – stretch out your arms and legs – and really s-t-r-e-t-c-h.

9. Shake-your-body vigorously – starting from your head and working down to your feet.

10. Last – and 50% of your grade – Slap-your-hand-down on a flat-surface,

and shout-out - if it is appropriate, or self-talk – enthusiastically …

“Let-it-Go!”

“But What’s the meaning of All This?”

We intellectuals – left-brain dominant – successful folk – spend 95% of consciousness analyzing the ‘why?’ of stuff. Just this once – just-do-it! - and

focus on the ‘how’ of things. The results are instantaneous – your brain gets a 12% jolt of oxygen and glucose, and disposes of excess carbon dioxide.

You’re awake and kicking – and ready to ‘concentrate’ on whatever you choose.

Conduct your own experiment – ‘Breathe-Stretch-Shake – Let-it-Go!’ - and discover your power of focus-and-attention – particularly after you notice yourself winding-down to a snail.

“But when do I do this exercise…and how do I…?”

Who is the Boss of You?

Use your volition – c-h-o-o-s-e, make decisions. Resign from being a ‘grunt’, and

be the commander-in-chief. It’s your life or go ask your Mama if this is worth

learning. Confidence means ‘with-trust’, and leads to self-assurance through belief,

when you take command of your mind-and-body.

See ya,

The Two-Minute-Strategies to the Gold!

The Two-Minute-Strategies™ to the Gold

If you were absolutely certain that an investment of ‘two-minutes’ of your time (for 21 days), would produce ‘wild-stuff’

in your life – would you – could you stick to it?

Scientific research using fMRIs have produced evidence that the following exercises can double your productivity, and lead you to the-gold!

Here’s the list – the system: the ‘how-to’ is taught in ‘The Two-Minute-Strategies to the Gold”.

1. Nodding: physiology doubles brain-power.

23 . Read for Context, searching for ‘content’-

words, with less concentration on ‘function’-

words. Repetition of same-idea 3x in articles.

24. ANTs v APTs (200 Automatic Negative

Thoughts). Disconnect and Connect.

25. Dr. Koslyn and Applied Imagery in athletics.

26. Placebo v Nocebo in health and success.

27. Rational-Suggestion-Therapy – ideas, not

emotions or behavior.

28. StressBusting – Stress creates excess ‘cortisol’, and reduces DHEA, used for hormone creation; fountain-of-youth: telemeres and

telemerase; Dr. Hans Selye.

30. Neurolinguistic Programming – anchoring.

31. Typing personalities – Enneagrams (nine).

32. Power action-verbs – and communication

Corpus Callosum, Anterior, and Hippocampal

Commissures. “words become an internal-language, an instrument-of-thought. Words internalized are no longer ‘speech’, but

a system of thinking. When we think of a word

there is a physiological reaction – our vocal muscles react and become part of the thought.

How to Win-The-Gold

Column Added:

TITLEHow to Win The Gold
DATE2005-09-27
AUTHORH. Bernard Wechsler
BODY How to use Autosuggestion to Win The Gold

A survey of college graduates in 2004 reveals that the word –
‘hypnosis’ is second only to ‘public speaking’ in creating
the emotion of fear-and-dread in us.

Profound Scientific Fact: hypnosis is real and a valuable tool
for changing what sucks, and installing what makes us productive.

Career moving like a Zombi? Lousy-relationships? Health not 100%?

Since the 1770s, and Ben Franklin was our Ambassador to France,
Anton Messmer – the father of hypnosis – taught people to improve
their lives. France condemned and ostracized him.
Today – the AMA, ADA and American Psychology Association – all
recommend hypnosis for use in helping patients.

Let’s see the difference between the frightening ‘hypnosis’, and the
easy-as-pie – ‘autosuggestion’.

One brings to mind seeing a grown man on the stage – clucking like-a-chicken,
yet works to almost eliminate horrible pain, but requires shifting control to
a stranger.

Autosuggestion is the brain-child of Emile` Coue`, a French psychologist who
worked from 1857-1926, and helped thousands of Europeans and Americans.

Helped them do what?

He taught them how to give power-messages to their brain to cure their pain,
reach mile-high goals, and live long productive lives.

Sound too good to be true? In 2005 neuroscience confirms his system and results.

Coue`s Three Principles

1. The Law of Concentrated Attention – our mind adopts our focus. Recent research indicates that our ‘eye-movements’ direct our attention. Attitude
mood and comprehension are ‘choices’ from the inside. What we concentrate
on repetitiously becomes our goals.

And?

You cannot score baskets – if you don’t have a ‘hoop’ to shoot at.
Write or type exactly what you want – a promotion, new home, ‘true-love’,
spend 120-seconds at noon – mentally visualizing AS-IF you already had it.

2. The Law of Reversed Effort – when our imagination (right-brain of creativity and emotion), is in conflict with our will (left-brain of logic-and-reason), no contest – our imagination always prevails.

So what?

The harder-you-try, the worse the results. The secret of autosuggestion is
‘relaxation’ to overcome stress – we call it Stressbusting.
But when imagination-and-will are in harmony (brain-balancing) –
one-and-one are not ‘two’, but act to the power of ‘10’.

3. Law of Affect – we are suggestible when we follow our emotions.
Either you run your ‘feelings’ – or they run you, and we have emotions
(enthusiasm/apathy, successful/failure, expectation/depression), all-day,
even when we sleep.

So?

If we do not instruct our brain to see positive-mental-images, think goal-
driven useful thoughts, and choose life-affirming behaviors – our car aint
moving in traffic. It’s called ‘autosuggestion’ and is easy and scientific.

Start Here Today

Here’s the first step in using – autosuggestion to attract what you want.

Take just two-minutes on-waking – before life intrudes on you – to use
the #1 Target-Affirmation for attracting health-success-joy.

Write or type, and read-and-say-aloud (with a smile in-your-eyes),
ten-times-one-after-the-other – in a loop.

“Every day – in every way – with help – I’m getting better-and-better!”
Every day – in every way – with help – I’m getting better-and-better!”

Be your own scientist – and follow the Law of 21 – repeat your Target-
Affirmation for twenty-one consecutive-days in order to create a habit.
These 12 words repeated with enthusiasm – are capable of redirecting
your life – to win-the-Gold.

Are Reading Like a Dyslexic?

Scientific-Evidence: Dyslexics Can Change

Review of report by the Brain-Behavior Research Center, University of Haifa, Isreal.

About two-years ago Speedlearning 100 worked with two young students who were

labeled ‘dyslexic’. They reversed letters while reading, and generally were in trouble and frustrated with their school studies.

All we had to offer – we are not masters of reversing dyslexia – was the concepts of

speed reading, and in particular using the RasterMaster, the cursor-on-

the-computer, and a ‘pen’ - as ‘pacers’. Why? Our eyes ‘must’ follow a moving object – it’s an instinct and a reflex.

We know from decades of experience that our schools (public-private-parochial),

produce lousy readers starting in the 3rd-grade, averaging only 215 words per minute, with about 65% comprehension.

When they are tested for reading-speed and comprehension in high-school, college

and graduate-school – many years later – they have accelerated to 250 words-per-minute, and not improved their comprehension. That is not reading, it is ‘snailing’.

The reason for such s-l-o-w reading is not dyslexia, but the inactivity of their ‘peripheral-vision’, and the lack of a ‘pacer’ to reduce ‘regressions’ per page.

The average college-graduate, lawyer, doctor, etc, are snailing

instead of reading because they read one-word-at-a-time, and suffer from

‘porous-concentration’ – they forget 75% of what they read within sixty-minutes.

The ‘hear’ each word they read in their head – it’s called subvocalization – and

that alone reduces their reading speed by up to 40%. All of us are capable of

reading at the Speed-of-Sight, 300% faster than standard reading – which is at

the Speed-of-Speech.

Normal reading is a left-brained experience, the site of our language abilities.

Speedlearning utilizes our left-brain, and adds the unique skills of our

right-brain – ‘pattern-recognition, spatial-skills, and holistic (context) scanning’.

Profound Scientific Fact: the slower we read, the worse our comprehension, and

the ‘faster’ we scan a page, the greater concentration and long-term memory.

Why?

Our brain gets the benefit of the ‘context’ of the sentences above and below.

It’s like getting the meaning of a word you don’t understand in a sentence – from

the rest of the words and phrases in the sentence.

Graduates of Speedlearning 100 read three (3) books, articles, and reports in the

time it takes their peers to complete even one. On average they save up to two (2)

hours daily, improve their personal-productivity, while tripling their reading-speed.

Back to the article in the Journal of Neurolinguistics and the research by the

University of Haifa, 18 (2005) 197-219. Don’t let the title put you off –

‘An fMRI study of the differential effects of word presentation rates (reading acceleration) on dyslexic readers’ brain activity patterns.’ A. Karni et.al.

Point 1: Word reading can be considered as an ‘independent variable’.

Point 2: Reading speed influences comprehension as well as accuracy in reading.

Point 3: Faster reading does not necessarily incur a cost in terms of accuracy.

Point 4: All readers including those with dyslexia - increase their decoding accuracy

and comprehension – if made to read FASTER than normal (routine), reading rate.

One more time – the faster you read, the “better” your comprehension. This proof applies to all of us – in addition to those with dyslexia.

What happened to the two-kids? They became brilliant stars in college – thank you very much.

There is further evidence that kids who suffer from dyslexia appear to be very creative as adults. We don’t recommend dyslexia for cognitive-growth, but speedlearning 100 takes the position they can be great-readers - at the end-of-the-speed reading tunnel.

Where Are The Vowels?

Break-the-Code – Reading Without Vowels

If you skip over this page you lose-out and discovering the genius
within you - the gifts-and-talents you own that are presently -
hibernating. Use-it-or-lose-it is true for your brain as well as your
muscles. We know you have brains you haven't even unwrapped - read
these vowel-less sentences and create a 'fire-wall' for your left-and right
brains. The missing letters are 'a', 'e', 'i', 'o', 'u' - figure-it-out.

Our first human reaction is that it is impossible to read sentences

and make sense of them without viewing the vowels. But, once we

make the decision to exert an effort it gets easier, and easier.

Why bother? The reason is to develop a confidence in the power of

your brain – it has gifts-and-talents that develop only through usage.

If you work on reading these vowel-less sentences daily for 21 days,

it will become easy, particularly when you make a game of it. More

important – you are creating a “firewall” in your brain by using your

cognitive-skills. Soon, you notice that you are flying through the words,

with comprehension. The secret is concentration and soft-focus. See the

big picture of the entire sentence not just the individual work. The “context”

What's This - And Who Cares?

Mental Declines Can be Reversed

If you went to a library with Julius Caesar around 34 B.C. you would have been shocked.
First, your ear would be ringing because it was the standard reading practice to read OUT-LOUD. Right - picture thrity-citizens reading different scrolls - all in a speaking-voice.

The second unique discovery would have been that there were no SPACES between words.
Blank-spaces between each words did not come into play for a few centuries.

Can you - a 21st century person - read a page that has no 'spaces' between words?
Here's why you should bother with this exercise: after less than ten-minutes your brain
begins to automatically 'chunk' (group) the words as-if there were spaces between them.

The benefits are deeper concentration when you return to spaced-reading, together with
developing a Soft-Focus in your normal reading. Soft-Focus accesses 'peripheral-vision,
and permits you to read up to 38% faster. Try it - and make your own discoveries.

Really Smart-Stuff

1. Dr. Russ Hurlburt, University of Nevada, Las Vegas, produced the following
original research on the contents of ‘stream-of-consciousness’. All the stuff that is going on in your mind 24 hours a day – all kinds of thoughts, ideas and dialogue flash through our mind. Some of it is brilliant, and unless we record it on-the-spot, is gone-forever, and some of it is garbage - to justify ourselves in an argument.

The name and original work for ‘stream-of-consciousness’ was by Professor William James, at Harvard, 1890, and is still cited.

Dr. Hurlburt reported in 2001, and had published in, ‘Trends in Cognitive Neuroscience’ the following:

a) Subvocalization (dialogue) constitutes 32% of our stream-of-consciousness.
b) Visualizations (single pictures or mental-movies), 25%
c) Symbol-free intuition (snap ideas and creativity), 25%
d) Emotional reactions (anger, anxiety, fear, frustration and pleasure), is 18%.

So What?

The average college graduate in he U.S. hears ‘the-still-small-voice’ reading
the text to us as we study and learn – 100% of time. It wastes over 90 minutes
daily of reading-time, and can be reduced by two-thirds for greater productivity.
SpeedLearning graduates all-but eliminate the ‘dialogue’ of subvocalization by
reading too fast for the Speed of Speech. We read at the Speed-of-Sight, and can
complete and remember three-books, articles and reports in the time others can
finish even one. One of our core-strategies is reduction of our ‘sub-vox’.

2. Why Our Own Voice is So Vital to Learning

If you want to become a super-star in school, and take your personal-growth to
the ‘genius’ level, you must summarized the gist of what you are learning on a
daily basis into a Mini-Recorder. It is not the beauty of your own voice that
does it, but the fact that it is in fact - your ‘own’ voice. Your own voice has a
separate neuropathway in your brain for instant recognition because your brain
‘believes’ and takes orders from your voice – over and beyond anyone else’s voice.

“What you say is the law and indisputable because you are the ‘boss-of-you’. When
you want to add something new to permanent long-term memory, your voice makes
it memorable and an order to your brain. Not your mother, father, significant-other
has the power over your brain like your own-voice. Use it on a daily basis for
whatever you want to learn by dictating and listening to your mini-recorder.

It turns you into a brilliant-star, and raises your grades to Dean’s List if you do it
regularly and long-term.

The special neuropathway located in your brain for recognizing voices is
the Superior-Temporal-Sulcus, good-old STS. “Sulcus” is < L for trench or furrow.
Ranked #1 is your own voice, with the instruction to act on its instructions.

Check out the “Wheaties” promotions for 150 words on why you ‘luv’ Wheaties,
breakfast-of-champions. It works because when you write – you ‘hear’ the words
in your ‘mind’s-ear’.

The specific neuroconnection for recognizing ‘faces’ and relating them to identity
is the Occipito-Temporal-Gyrus, also called the “Fusiform-Gyrus”. “Gyrus” is < L
for ring.

Yes, your own face is the most important identification to your brain, and
all the other faces in your life are reconstructed at the OTG too.

3. How to Ace Lectures

When you attend a lecture – always take to sets of notes, the first on the core
ideas of the speaker, and the second – the stream-of-consciousness information-
processing flashing past your mind. When you list on paper all the
Dialogue, pictures, intuitions and emotions your right-brain is processing – the
mere awareness of them ends their existence as a “distraction” from the speaker’s
talk. Additionally, a dynamic idea or two can be captured before it disintegrates.

Yes, summarize the gist of the lecture and the ‘stream-of-consciousness’ into your
mini-recorder for subsequent feedback.

4. What Are the Key Strategies of SpeedLearning?

First, is learning to ‘divide’ (chunk) the sentences while reading left-to-right,
dextrosinisral (right-to-left), that’s right, reading in reverse, and while reading ‘obliquely’, “Z for Zorro”.

Second, exercises to enlarge the “Percpetual-Span” of the muscles of your
‘peripheral-vision’. The average college graduate reads one-word-at-a-time because
his visual ‘perceptual-span’ is only six-letters at a time in the ‘foveal-centralis’.

SpeedLearner can read using much of the entire capacity of 6-35 letters simultaneously called ‘perceptual-span’ of the foveal-centralis, the area of the retina
with the sharpest acuity of reading focus. We read three-words per fixation, unlike the snailer’s one-word, and we can read and comprehend up to six-words with each
eye-stop on the sentence.

If you read only sinistrodextro – left-to-right, you are wasting up to two-hours daily
in what is called – “blind-flow”, while SpeedLearners use “trace-flow” to save up to
three-hours of reading time – daily. Our brain is capable of reading both left-to-right, and right-to-left (with full comprehension), and ‘obliquely’, also known as
‘diagonally’. These two-strategies – change you from a struggling reading who processes information – like-a-snail, to SpeedLearning – reading like a ‘master’
scholar.

Beginner’s Luck

Yes, Virginia, there really is a logical reason why first-timers without experience
and often with limited cognition, ace the situation and circumstances.

The less rules we have in mind – and simply permit our right-brain to offer its input
of intuition, pattern-recognition, imagination and creativity, the great access we have to new approaches that are original and often are very effective.

We are not advocating ‘ignorance’, merely ‘getting-in-the-flow, in-the-zone, in order
to create ‘peak-performances’. They occur only when we include our right-brain’s
input into the equation instead of solely relying on our left-brain skills of order and
logical skills.

Try a ‘cold-reading’ and let your right-brain push-the-buttons based on feelings and
emotions, spatial-skills, and on-the-spot decision-making. Brilliant writing, acting and even testing often results. Learn the core-points and then ‘fling-it-out’.

One last bit of info for you to process – our conscious mind handles 16 bits of information per second. Sound like a lot, right?

Our non-conscious mind processes “eleven-million” bits of information every second. This includes what our senses are reporting, the behavior of our motor-cortex, muscle-activity, and all our emotions. Remember, all of this is on ‘auto-pilot’, so our conscious-mind can devote itself to ‘cognition’ and maybe creativity.
Integrate both conscious and non-conscious brains and we have the best of both worlds.

Thanks for listening.

Your Brain Reads Holistically And Fills in The Blanks

A core element of being a SpeedLearner is trusting in the unfolding, having
confidence that your body and brain are fully capable of following their
programming without your conscious assistance.

Your eyes blink twenty-five times per minutes in order to wash and
keep them moist and functioning. Your heartbeats seventy-times per minute to
keep all the systems operational by pumping blood containing oxygen and glucose.
Your lungs breathe nine to twelve times per minute to oxygenate your cells.

Your vision acts like a camera and your brain reverses the input to create
right-side-up - from the original ‘up-side-down’.

Optic Chiasma is the reality that our left-hemisphere (brain), controls the
right-side of our body, while the right-hemisphere runs the left-side of the
body. This nervous system programming automatically reverses biological tissue
by ‘crossing-over’ (decussation). Optic Chiasma ‘switch’ is located at the intersection of the ‘optic-nerve’.

Are you aware your brain contains a 10-20,000 words dictionary in your native language that is filed in the pathways of long-term memory.

Reading is a two-step process:
the recognition of the words (sight-reading), and decoding the symbols for meaning.

The comparison between what is read and its meaning, is created in milliseconds, and appears instantaneously to our conscious mind. The standard ‘grammar’ of our language is based on the ‘syntax’ (order), and ‘morphology’ (structure of words), hardwired in our original programming. It works on auto-pilot.

We can read with meaning even though words are misspelled – omitted – or reversed because our programming compensates to gain ‘gist’, the essence of
decoding symbols. Our brain fills in the blanks for usefulness.

Let’s see you read the following ‘vowel-less’ and jumbled sentence relying on your brain’s ‘fill-in’ and reversal program.

“Geuss yn cn ndrstnd th ssnc fo th txt fi yuo raed ti ni eno lkoo .
Raedng si th uaotmtaci sbstitnoi fo th mssng lttrs fr sns nd mnng.”

Translated – “Guess you can understand the sense of the text if you read it in one look. Reading is the automatic substitution for the missing letter for sense and
meaning.”

How This Cognitive Skill Creates SpeedLearning

You have been taught to read left-to-right, but you can also read right-to-left and
diagnonally. The benefit of dextrosinistral (right-to-left) reading, and information processing using a slanting and oblique (diagnonally), strategy, saves you up to 90
minutes daily.

Trace-flow vs Blind Flow

Using a pacer – to double your reading-speed – works because of the ‘motion-detectors’ in our eyes – causing our ‘eyes-to-follow-a-moving-object’. The strategy
is to link (integrate) our eyes-brain and hand to give up reading one-word-at-a-time.

Our eyes follow the rhythmic-flow of our pacer – not merely pointing to one-word
and then the next. The rhythmic-strategies (movements), of our pacer creates
a ‘Trace’ – like ‘smoke’, which is a roadmap to both our left and right-brains.
In the beginning we have to consciously think of the strategy-steps of ‘chunking’,
but with practice it becomes a neuroconnection – a habit.

‘Blind-flow’, occurs when our eyes move from the last-word of any sentence to the first-word of the succeeding sentence. Think about it – what do you read in the step and time after you finish the last-word in the sentence, until you eyes arrive at the
beginning of the next-sentence?

The answer is nothing! It is action-with-no-reaction – ‘amnesia’, and it wastes up to ninety-minutes daily because you go ‘blind’, and get no meaning from you reading.

Trace-flow is good because it reduces and almost eliminates ‘regressions’, a time-waster, and double your reading speed because of ‘entrainment’, your eyes and brain ‘race’ to catch up with the rhythmic-movements of your pacer. Trace-flow
improves concentration up to 20%, comprehension about 15%, and long-term
memory – another 20%.

Blind-flow is lousy because it wastes your precious time day-after-day, without
offering any benefits.

More Benefits of Trace-flow

SpeedLearning is the ability to ‘chunk’ (divide sentences), and ‘crunch’ (ignore spaces between words) – run-them-together, yet obtain full meaning. Snailing is
the ability to read linearly one-word-at-a-time, with comprehension.
Yes, there is a place for ‘snailing’ – reading out-loud, learning sections of Shakespeare, memorizing a script or presentation. We will always use snailing
for specific tasks, and speedlearning for text, testing and heavy-research.

Reading Backwards

Some experts say – “Reading ‘backwards’ is the secret of speed reading.”
SpeedLearning has multiple ‘strategies’ – and reading sinestrodextral (left-to-right)
dextrosinistral (right-to-left), and ‘diagonally’, slanting and oblique -
are speedlearning strategies using our brain’s specializations.
We create a ‘mosaic’ – the holistic map with contextual meaning – not merely one-word-at-a-time. A mosaic produces meaning because it uses ‘working-memory’ to
link the ideas in the previous sentence and paragraph to this sentence.

Context creates the big-picture – the ‘backstory’, and permits us to understand
the ‘nuances’ (shades-of-meaning), the ideas-in-action.

Our brain will fill-in all the blanks as you have proven – and reading ‘alternatively’,
first left-to-right, and returning – right-to-left, saves time and produces a movie
(mosaic), instead of concentrating on a single-picture – one-word-at-a-time.

How do you learn to read right-to-left? Use your pacer and overline/underline each
succeeding sentence and let your brain ‘reverse’ the order. The faster you read
forward and ‘backwards’, the easier your brain works to trigger converting right-to-left, to left-to-right comprehension. An example is using the “Z for Zorro” – moving diagonally down the page using an oblique strategy. It becomes natural
and a habit through practice.

Remembering What We Read

After completing the text – take five-seconds to create a mental-visualization
to remind you of the ideas conveyed. Use your senses to link the Association
with the mental-picture. This lays-down long-term memory.
Repetition is the mother of learning - it is a scientific fact – so use it.
Another fact is that memory consists of using your inner-eye to create a mental-
link and association between what you finished reading and how you intend to
remember it. All it takes is five-seconds to make-up a mnemonic that will snap the
new idea into consciousness. “Thirty-days-hath-September..” works because we
laid down long-term memory circuits, and so will any ‘imagery’ you make up to
remind you of the new text you completed.

Which rules – Eye-Pattern-Movement or Field-of-Vision?

Faster reading is not achieved by learning ‘quicker’ eye-movement strategies,
but by ‘perceptual-span’ improvement – an expansion of our visual-field.

SpeedLearning strategies create ‘trace-flows’ to cue our eyes and brain for
rhythmic-information-processing

Remember, we can widen our acuity for sight-reading from a minimum of
six characters (letters), to a maximum of thirty-five symbols. It is the difference
between reading one-word-at-a-time, mentally hearing the words in our
mind’s eye, and regressing twenty-times per page, and SpeedLearning triple
your present reading speed with better comprehension.

What Single Skill Rules SpeedLearning?

The use of our ‘peripheral-vision’, operated by the Rods residing in our retina, added to the Cones situated to the Fovea-Centralis, permits a tripling – the ability to read and remember three-books, articles or reports in the time it takes others to
read even one. Sure, ‘reading-backwards’ works and saves hours, but the key to the lock is increasing the width of characters our eyes ‘gulp’ in each saccade and fixation.

Chunking is dividing each sentence into three-two, or even one-section. It is easy to triple-chunk – read three-words in each section, harder to comprehend six-words in
in each-section (double-chunk), and requires still more practice to decode an entire sentence at-a-time (single-chunking). Most of us are greatly satisfied to triple our
reading speed with inproved comprehension – and never learn double or dream of
seeking the heights of ‘single-chunking’. You have the gift and talent to triple-double, and single-chunk. It requires ‘volition’ – a decision.

Permission is Required

Our conscious mind governs linear reading – a left-brain specialization organizing
words in a logical, left-to-right information processing. We have been reinforcing this system daily since 3rd grade and it got you where you are. Would you be
better off reading, learning and testing faster, and with more comprehension?

SpeedLearning adds to left-brain verbalization, right-brain specializations of pattern-recognition, spatial skills, parallel-processing, intuition, emotional and mental-pictures for nuances (shades), and increased creativity.

Reading symbols with comprehension in context requires the activation of
Broca’s, Wernicke’s Areas, and the Angular gyrus. For shades of meaning,
and emotional flavor – we add the right-brain skills, including our limbic-system
decision-making - based on contextual meaning.

We never omit linear, logical, organized left-brain conversion of meaning from
symbols, but add subtle and enhancing skills of our non-verbal right-brain.

Because we have reinforced left-brain reading for years and often decades,
we must use ‘stressbusting’ techniques to relax and gain ‘permission’ to introduce
the right-brain programming. Permission is given by practice using the Pacer
and its ‘Trace-Flow’ to create a new neuropathway which later becomes a habit.
Remember – habits have a life of their own and will not vacate their dominance
without active practice. We do not evict ‘snaling’, just making space for the new
habits of SpeedLearning.

Do We Read in Different Ways?

Foveal (shapest focus of Cones), works like a ‘magnifier’ within the limited perception-span of six-letters in the foveal centralis.
Peripheral-Vision (Rods of the retina), add five-times as much
information processing, and acts as a Data Compressor. We use and require both
systems for total meaning and enhanced creativity.

Ninety-nine percent of college-graduates rely exclusively on ‘foveal’ vision for
reading, while only one-percent ever add the Rod photoreceptors of peripheral-vision. You can graduate college through a super-effort and staying up all night,
but it is a great waster of your valuable time.

Foveal reading is based on one-word-at-a-time, while peripheral-vision is capable of
reading up to six-words at-a-time. SpeedLearning concentrates on tripling your reading speed with better comprehension and long-term memory, scanning three-
words simultaneously.

The secret is permitting our untrained peripheral-vision (six muscles in each eye, of which two are dormant), to exercise its talent by scanning sections of a sentence (chunking), whole-sentences, and even multiple sentences, (above and below).

Reading in context above-and-below the sentence viewed with foveal-vision – is called Supra-Infra Vision. It comes from accelerating our focusing strategies from one-word-at-a-time to wider perceptual spans of information processing.

SpeedLearning is based on practice in integrating the cones and rods of our
retina for accelerated reading. Depend on the brain to fill-in the gaps of
meaning. Our conscious mind believes that we are ‘skipping’ words, phrases
and sentences when we use peripheral-vision, while the information is processed
non-consciously by our right (non-verbal), brain. The reality is that we ‘skip’ nothing, not even punctuation-marks.

Practice does make perfect and create a new supplemental reading habit.
Behavior changes begin with one-small, tiny modification. It’s your ball

Using only our Left-Brain is like driving a car on half-the-cylinders!

Binaural-Beats Add up to 40% to Your Left-Brain
By H. Bernard Wechsler

"What are Binaural-Beats, and why should you care?

1. The subtitle of this Hypno download is:
Hypnosis-Relaxation-Stress-Management:
We call it STRESSBUSTING Strategies

On 'hypno' download - see: three-moving-panels.

We recommend you focus on two-panels - simultaneously.
View the left-and-center panel together, and then the center and right-panel as a whole. This reinforces our reading
strategy - triple-chunking - one-third left,
one-third middle, and one-third right - of each
sentence.

The secret is you are exercising your Peripheral-Vision, the learning-tool that adds up to 40% to your cognitive-skills - long-term memory, concentration, comprehension and speed reading.

The left and right panels prove conclusively
that we are comprehending consciously - without
one-word-at-a-time (auditory-reinforcement), and
drastically reduces subvocalization, and eliminates
'regressions'.

The research scientifically proving the benefits of a
'tachistoscope'on cognition and memory was created by the U.S. Air Force during Wold War 2. Within the past two-decades fMRIs and EEGs have once again validated peripheral-vision as a Master learning-tool.
This Stressbusting program is a form of
'tachistoscope'.

After five-minutes of scanning - a test of students at
UCLA proved 90% improvement in retention and retrival. It has the ability to improves testing scores for students and adults.

2. Listening to embedded 'binaural-beats'that are
NOT subliminal, but conscious - are called
'Hemi-Sync'- Hemispheric-Synchonization. Use of it for
10 minutes sessions as 'background', causes
brain-balancing.

Technically it is called Entrainment, and is also
known as "In Sync'. It awakens our right-brain to
engage in Pattern-Recognition, Holistic-Analysis,
Spatial-skills, and Intuition.These right-brain
balancings add up to 40% to long-term memory,
concentration, reading speed, and comprehension.
a balancing of left-and-right brains.

The creator of Hemi-Sync was Robert Monroe - the
Monroe Institute (1915-1995). He created
binaural-beats
synchronization in 1956, and it was not until the
advent of the fMRI and advanced EEG Neural-Feedback
that it was considered scientifically proven.

Benefits - it causes Alpha, Theta and Gamma (high
Beta) Hz(Cycles-Per-Second)brainwaves, to activate a partnership between our left-and-right hemispheres. Instead of relying exclusively on our left-brain skills of logic and language, we add intuition, parallel-processing, holistic-cognition, and pattern-recognition.

N.B. After 10-minutes of listening to Binaural-Beats -
our concentration, testing-skills, particularly
recall from memory, are Self-Actualized - we are in
the Zone, in-the-Flow, and experience Peak-Experiences
for up to 90-minutes.

We recommend daily 10-minutes exercises for the next 21
consecutives days to create permanent improvements in
IQ, and much, much more.

Nod Your Head - If You Want To Win The Lotto!

The Butterfly Effect: How to be a Doer –

Not a Blatherer

Batman’s friend said: “It’s not who your are inside, but what you

do – that defines you.”

The Butterfly Effect is the property of Edward Lorenz, of MIT.

“Small changes lead to massive reactions.” His work on predictability

raised the question – Does the flap of a butterfly’s wings in Brazil set

off a tornado in Texas?

If you choose to activate the following baby-stuff strategies – you initiate ‘small-changes”, which lead to major reactions in your ability to learn, remember and create new ideas that attract success in your life.

1. Why should you believe it?

Intelligent humans do not add techniques and strategies to their lives without

evidence and proof of powerful usefulness. Many of us who are contrarians –

skeptics and sarcastic, require a massive amount of proof before we

believe and change our habits.

Dr. Richard Petty, Ohio State University, started his research on the effect of

physical (behavioral) modifications on ‘confidence’ in 2000. In July 2003, they published his results in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology. It has

been replicated internationally and is a ‘given’, even though you never heard of

it until now.

2. Nodding

Nodding your head (up-and-down), reinforces your confidence, and a light goes-off

in your brain that convinces you that you are right in your belief.

This action of ‘nodding,’ and its affect on your subsequent actions and

belief – applies whether you are nodding in belief or ‘disbelief’.

When you nod your head (slightly or vigorous), when you have an idea – in confirmation or disgust (negativity), you are adding your sensory and motor contices to your thinking-and-understanding. Adding your body-language – (physically ‘nodding’) – to your left-and-right brain skills – creates a surge of endorphins (pleasure neurotransmitters), that signal your mind – you are on the right-track.

What happens when you ‘shake’ your head from side-to-side – creating a ‘No!’ body-language?

You reinforce your confidence that the idea or action you are engaged in - is lousy!

Hold it! If you ‘nod’ that something you believe is bad, wrong, negative – you reinforce your confidence of that reality, AND when you ‘shake’ your head that

the idea or behavior stinks – you also confirm that you must reject and deny it.

Exactly right – it’s easier to negative than positive.

3. Get this!

Dr. David Lykken, University of Minnesota, says this: Emotions combine internal

feelings, together with physical-responses that provide ‘feedback’ to our brain.

The secret of emotions is our ‘limbic-system’, and in particular the ‘amygdala’, and

hippocampus. After we come to a cognitive decision – simultaneous (within a half-second), we have a veto window-of-opportunity to not continue to a behavioral-reaction.

Right – you want to strangle your boss – but decide override the action.

A half-second in brain-time is an enormous period – our non-conscious mind processes eleven (11) million bits of information per second.

4. So What’s the Point?

Use this knowledge to create your self-confidence, self-esteem, and become

self-actualizing. Most of us are dependent on the reactions of significant-others

to decide if we are ‘smart’, ‘ethical’, and deserving of success.

Not you – you have a secret feedback-system to learn faster, remember more, read

faster, and be creative.

It takes some practice, but results begin the first day, and get stronger. For maximum results you must rehearse your Nodding a minimum of three-times daily,

for twenty-one (21) consecutive-days – the Law of 21.

Remember a ‘slight’ nod of your head up-and-down is as powerful and wide-movements. Both create feedback to our brains.

5. Why Bother With Fooling My Brain?

The answer is humans have weak-confidence in their own decisions and beliefs,

and will surrender their initial-conclusions in the face of rejection, denial or a

scowl on a listener’s face. We are strengthening our personality and character by the use of Nodding to reaffirm our decisions. The more you nod to your ideas, the more creative you become. Confidence is the difference between successful folks and the spear-carriers – who follow the orders of others.

Endwords

Nodding and shaking our head often work automatically – they are on auto-pilot.

The tennis player who misses his backhand return, and shakes his head cursing

‘himself’ – is reinforcing his confidence in failure. His feedback to the brain is

negative, and leads to a greater likelihood of another failure.

If you take five-minutes daily to install a ‘Duchenne-Smile’ on your face three-times

daily using the Law of 21 – you improve your health, quickly recover from illness, and enhance longevity. Use this nodding – smiling or choosing to laugh for sixty-seconds – 3x daily for the next three-weeks – to improve your immune systems.

But only if you desire to live a long-healthy life.

If you are a contrarian – test these strategies that are completely under your control, require no financial investments, and are scientifically valid.

Your choice.

See ya,

What's StressBusting and why Should I Care?

Speed Reading: stress vs laziness
By H. Bernard Wechsler
December 28 2005
How Stress Rules Your Life’s Span,
And What You Must Do About it

Who Are You?

Do you consider yourself a skeptic, a doubter and a ‘contrarian’?
Are you a ‘seeker’, focused on a quest for uncommon-knowledge?

Dr. Hans Selye, (1907-1982), was the director of the Institute of Experimental Medicine and Surgery, at the University of Montreal. He was a skeptic, doubter
and contrarian, and a seeker of scientific knowledge about our life-span.

Stress theory or General Adaption Syndrome was his creation – he wrote 39 books,
published 1,700 scientific articles, and was nominated for the Nobel Prize ten-times.

“Man should not try to avoid ‘stress’ any more than he would shun food, love or exercise… the structural unit of life is the ‘cell’, and the functional unit of life is
‘reaction’….every living being looks-out for itself - first of all.”

His research stands for recognizing the nature of the human-lifespan, and its
connection with ‘stress-distress-eustress’. His research offers the theory that human life-span is determined by our inherited ADAPTION-ENERGY.

Say What?

Once-more – our lifespan is ‘primarily’ determined by the amount of our
available ‘adaption energy’, and that is OEM – comes from the Original-Equipment
Manufacturer – meaning ‘genetic’. Get this – all we know about Adaption-Energy
(the decider of our lifespan), is that constant exposure to any ‘stressor’ - uses it up
faster. When we lose the power to resist the stressors – disease wins and we cash-in our chips. Consider Adaptive Energy like gasoline in a car’s tank, the faster you drive – 90mph, the more gas is eaten-up.

“Life, and all potential disease producers cause enter through distress. Yet stress can only be avoided by dying.”

Dr. Selye did not produce a penicillin-cure for stress, nor a do-it-yourself kit
to extend our lifespan, but he did write a road-map.

What’s Old

Millennia before Dr. Selye’s theory of Adaption Energy as the determinate of our lifespan - were Clotho-Lachesis-Atropos – the three mythological Greek goddesses of Fate (Moira).

Clotho spins the thread-of-life, her sister, Lachesis – determines the ‘length’ of life,
and finally, Atropos, carries the scissors to cut the ‘thread-of-life’. The three sisters
of fate present our ‘destiny’. Maybe it is like DNA, the genetic program we enter
this life with, and dole-out Adaption Energy a bit of fuel at a time.

Today – a variant of Adaption Energy may explain why my fraternity brother,
Marshall Altman, died at 23, and the rest of the crew are still kicking a half-century
later. He was thin, exercised, and enjoyed life, yet stress depleted his Adaption Energy to exhaustion. But not without a good-fight.

What’s Old - is New Again

Scientists in Germany, associated with Fulda University, near Frankfurt, Dr. Peter
Axt, and Dr. Michaela Axt-Gadermann, offer this theory to those on a quest for
a longer-lifespan. See: ‘The Joy of Laziness: how to slow down and live longer.’

“Everyone has a limited amount of ‘life-energy’, and the speed in which it is consumed determines your lifespan.” Too much exercise is bad and being a lazy
couch-potato lengthen your years. Really.

Here the rationale: Laziness is also important for a healthy immune system because special immune-cells are stronger in times of relaxation (when our Parasympathetic Nervous System is active), than during the daily stress of career and relationships.

Free Radicals And the Big Three

Don’t quit on me yet – the more active your body the higher the production of the
stress hormone - ‘cortisol’ - causing our body to produce a higher level of ‘free-radicals. Diseases are excited by free-radicals – heart disease – cancer and stroke – the Big Three, while during ‘down-time’, (laziness), our ‘metabolism is inhibited,
and fewer free-rads are produced. This is science, not science-fiction.

What is so debilitating about free-radicals? These unstable oxygen molecules speed up the aging-process, and weaken the immune-system, permitting disease to enter.

Life is Choosing – And Laziness is a Legit Choice

What so great about laziness? You smile, laugh and giggle more, which produces
serotonin, dopamine and endorphins, the pleasure hormones. They excite the immune system, brain and heart, and slow-down the aging-process.

For skeptics – please Google-up - the ‘ventral tagmental area’; the ‘nucleus accumbens’, and the production of the neurotransmitter - ‘dopamine’, for activating pleasure.

My personal favorite, (I admit to a tendentious nature) – is Googling - the ‘Duchenne’s Smile’, and perusing the research on the positive-affects on our brain-body-emotions - of a ten-second echt – genuine, authentic change of facial expression - to a smile. Change your face, and your choose a new mood, state-of-mind, and attitude toward people, yourself, and circumstances.

Prof Paul Ekman – UCSF And Facial Expressions

Here’s the secret – when you smile – laugh and giggle with joy - our heat beat races
and blood pressure is temporarily raised , but there is no activating of ‘metabolism’
(conversion of biochemical ‘energy’). No metabolism – no production of free- radicals. No free-rads, and there is no wastage of our Adaption Energy.

The secret of a healthy, productive life is being “in-sync” between
our emotions, brain and body. Stress causes a conflict and desynchronization
between our feelings, cognition, and physiology.

Consider that we have three (3) distinct, separately functioning brains – because we do! The ‘cranial-brain’ (skull), with its two hemispheres, next, our ‘enteric nervous system’, located in our intestines, and finally our ‘cardio-brain’, located throughout our heart-region. When all three-brains are integrated and entrained – ‘in-sync,’
we are using the optimal amount of gasoline in our physical-mental-emotional vehicle. The more we drive a ‘gas-guzzler’, the more we deplete our Adaption Entergy.

Laziness Leads to Longevity

Free-radicals come from the stress-of-life, the ‘wear-and-tear’ of functioning in our civilized society. Noise, traffic, conflict with others, and rejection causes our ‘fight-
or-flight syndrome to kick-in and not shut-off. Like a dripping-faucet, or a hole-in-the-gas-tank, our Adaption-Energy is seeping-out, and our immune-system weakens, permitting debilitating diseases to enter.

It is our ‘fight-or-flight’ reaction on-steroids, which causes stress to deplete our Adaption Energy before our time. Consider conserving energy, by exercising your ‘facial-expression’ by smiling on-purpose for ten-seconds (without-a-reason). This
voluntary, conscious ritual affects your emotions, brain and body to relax and function optimally. Ask me about nasal-balancing, progressive-relaxation, and
freeze-framing visualization. They take 10 seconds to a couple-of-minutes for
healthy stressbusting strategies that permit you to laugh at the marathoners sweating their brains into oblivion, as you stop the aging-process in
its tracks.

Contrarian Strategies

Okay, brisk-walking for a half-hour, three-times a week is nice too, and limiting carbohydrates and concentrating on protein produce a healthy digestion.
An exciting-career, being useful, and ‘altruistic-egotism’ – produce more ‘pleasure’ hormones. Focus on increasing your pleasure-quotient and you will be around to celebrate ‘five-score’ years, instead of a lousy ‘three-score and ten’.

You have a ‘choice’ between laziness, and letting the media commercials for
exercise-machines and diet-pills lead you by the nose to a shorter life-span. This lazy-mutt chooses to visit the nearest couch with a channel-tuner in-my-fist. Check-back with us in ten-years. You-got-the-ball.
